So, I messaged Emma this morning to ask if she wanted me to mention anything in the blog today. Her response was, "I think the big message is that we are all over the place" I was about to take offence as I think I have been containing my entrepreneurial - I must come up with a new idea at least 9 times per minute brain- and I thought as a team we were pretty much winning at life. She meant more literally - we are at Birdland, we start Wild at Winchcombe tomorrow for two weeks, and we get to hang out at Sudeley Castle for Scooby Doo day on Sunday...oh and we have fully booked sessions tomorrow for Silversmithing. It's a bit like Eats, Shoots, and Leaves - a great book if you haven't read it about the power of punctuation.
Anyway so I imagine you are probably not one of those super organised people that gets stuff organised way in advance? My experience with, say, buying gifts early often ends with me having to buy another present nearer the time because I can't remember where I put the first one, or getting the email to ask how I enjoyed my day at XYZ the day after my ticket was valid! But I understand there are some proper adults out there. If you fall into that category or know someone who does, you may be interested to know that our first Christmas Glass Decoration workshop is coming up on Sat 12th October. It takes about two weeks to get them back so following firing, you should be all sorted to hang them up on the 1st December.
But if I expect a bit too much adulting from you with the above, what about focusing on the summer and school holidays coming to a close at the end of this month? For those lucky ladies of leisure living their best retirement lives, maybe this isn't so relevant, but I enjoy a nice reset in September.
I will enjoy being at the Networking club on Thursday, 5th September, for our vision board session - it's also a great opportunity to get local gossip and conspiracy theories and meet more of our ever-growing tribe of local business owners.
Let us just get back to the important stuff - being creative - it feels like we haven't run a lampshade workshop in donkey's years, so I am excited that we have one on Friday, 13th September. You can bring your own fabric to colour co-ordinate with your chosen interior colour scheme or pick from our selection. Lampshade making is one of those things that is super satisfying. Once you have committed and cut the material and worked on the tucking, it's a great feeling to see your handiwork hung and used in your home...and no - I can't tell you why everyone wants to put them on their heads for a photo!
There probably is a lot of other stuff I should be talking to you about now, but its Friday and as a single puppy parent (Phil has gone away with our son on a white water rafting/ zipwire type holiday in Wales) I am pooped. I think I lost my decision-making capabilities this morning and had to get Emma to help me choose 2 colours I wanted to block print with, and then I spent way too long trying to decide if the felt flowers for headbands at Winchcombe looked better in colour coordinated lines or all thrown in together in a basket.. I know! workplace stress is real thing at Larkswold!
I will leave you to this weekends heat wave and the likely chance that we will have snow next week (I made the snow bit up)
Enjoy,
Melinda
