I really have to say, Tracy (Cotswold Hipster) and Robyn (The Yard Pottery), you should be ashamed of yourselves. Ok, I admit it took me a while to realise after the networking event, when I sat down for a cup of tea, that your latest deep dive into social media conspiracies (you both have a problem) revealed that the Ukraine president, Zelensky, had bought Highgrove. It seemed a bit weird! But Robyn, the additional backstory about his past in showbiz, dressing as a woman, and playing the piano with certain body parts must have taken the two of you quite some time to fabricate. Shame on you both for trying to convince my gullible self.
Flock
I managed to persuade Mr. Larkswold to help Ed and I to relocate the chicken coop from its old spot to a new one on the purpose-built concrete-floored new site. We painted it with black barn paint to match the studio. Although some of the ducks now have some black spots due to the paint not being completely dry by the time they went to bed, everyone is happy.
Winchcombe Station
The cutest little lambs were created by children, mums, dads, and grandparents over Easter. We had a number of rather chilly sheep that needed woolly jumpers, so the kind people traveling the Gloucestershire & Warwickshire Steam Railway helped out. The continued partnership between us at Adlestrop station and the wonderful team at GWSR never ceases to fill me with happiness. More than 400 dedicated volunteers man the stations and keep everything running like clockwork. Thanks to Sue & Mike who tirelessly come up with and deliver wonderful crafts with us, and Sue's amazing face painting sister Laurie. Roll on Wild @ Winchcombe in the summer when we get to deliver two weeks of fun creepy-crawly crafts from August 10th to August 26th.
Stained Glass Workshop
It's amazing how quickly our latest new workshop is filling up! We've already received bookings for our upcoming two-day workshop. Roland, who has an impressive 42k followers on TikTok (not that I'm envious), will be joining us in the studio twice this year:
- Wednesday 19th & Thursday 20th June
- Saturday 28th & Sunday 29th September
I'm really excited to create my own stained glass panel for my house and learn from Roland's years of experience.
Coming up in April...
Arm knitting is running Thursday 11th and Thursday 18th April
Beeswax wraps Wednesday 17th April
Succulent wreaths have also come back into popularity in the studio this year. We have the next session running on Sunday 20th alongside our next Leather belt workshop.
I hope everyone has a great weekend, and thank you to all who attended our networking session yesterday. Anna from SilverNutshell provided valuable insights into using Instagram and creating Reels. A warm welcome to those who are new, and we look forward to seeing you at our next networking club on Thursday May 2nd, where Daniel will discuss how drones can assist in promoting your business."
